In the traditional Choctaw trickster tale featured a chatty and boastful rabbit who is tricked by a fox into using her long, beautiful tail to fish through a hole in the ice. The tail freezes solid, and when the rabbit pulls away in a panic, it snaps off, leaving them with the little powder-puff tail they has today.
